It has two separate input channels for audio line in and microphone. The audio input will be sampled and digitally processed in modern audio studio quality with 24 bit and 96 KHz (i.e. an audio CD supports only 16 bit and 44,1 KHz of signal processing). The audio output is strong enough for driving directly many headphones or bodyconducters. There are slots in the front panel for standalone working and testing and in the rear panel for applying in racks with many others MBA.
