The English Speaking Invasion of Atlantis in 2008 !

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the English APP (Audio Psycho Phonology) training course at our Mozart-Brain-Lab in Sint-Truiden.

The course ran this year for three weeks in February and picked up again for three weeks in April. The 6 students worked for 6 days a week from 9.00am until 9.00pm.

Jozef Vervoort, Dr. Wolfram Linn, Martien de Voigt, Patrick De La Roque and Prof. Walter Maassen presented the course. The students also spent time at the Atlantis centre training with Jacob Hertigers on the use of the sound equipment.

This was an all female group from diverse backgrounds as well as countries and cultures. They represented Canada, Poland, South Africa and the USA. The youngest of the group was Astrid the daughter of Jozef Vervoort, a young lady of many languages. She requested that she finish her APP studies with this group as she found them to be serious about their mission but a lot of fun too.

This was a special group of women who worked hard, played hard and shopped when they could.

On one of Jozef's lecture days he told the story of a mother whose child had received Tomatis therapy and had reached such a good level of recovery that when she next saw Jozef she enveloped him in her ample bosom in a gargantuan hug virtually lifting him off his feet. This put the whole class into an uproar at the vision of this event. The students decided to use the artistic talents of fellow student Mairead to create this Thank You card for Jozef depicting this wonderful and humorous event.

The students passed their exams doing really well and Beata has returned to her psychology practise in Poland and has incorporated Tomatis therapy into her treatment of Autistic children as well as children with other developmental problems. Heidi is doing the same in Miami, USA. Sharron from near Chicago has incorporated APP into her Orthopaedic therapy and also plans to work with returning veterans from Iraq. Mairead, a soon to be retired teacher will introduce the APP to children with special needs in her area in Canada. Rosemary from South Africa has remained in Sint-Truiden to assist Jozef and his team with formatting all his English training and literature and will be opening a centre outside London in the near future.

Astrid who can be found working in many areas of Atlantis plans now to study psychology. After spending a lifetime living eating and breathing Tomatis at her father's knee, Astrid is a natural when it comes to being an Audio Pyscho Phonologist.
